A Call for Citizen Action!
Join the Pembroke Watershed Association in advocating for the health of our community’s waterways and ponds!
Drastic measures were taken in the Spring of 2026 to approve the diversion of 1,000,000 gallons of water per day from Furnace Pond, which appears to have contributed to environmental disparity for Pembroke’s waters and its migratory wildlife.
We are calling upon local lawmakers to provide a better framework and transparency in the approval of this water diversion from Pembroke’s Great Ponds.
Updates will be ongoing throughout the fact-finding process. In the meantime we are posting basic information and guidance here for the public to review.

July 7th – Pembroke Watershed Association Board to Meet with local representatives Kathleen R. LaNatra and Kenneth P. Sweezey (to be confirmed).
July 31st – Legislation goes into Recess
August 2026 – Presentation to the Pembroke Select Board
4th Tuesday of every month (typically) – Central Plymouth County Water District Commission (CPCWDC). Agendas are posted at Town Hall but you can sign up here
